    Oxalic Acid is a bleaching solution for the purpose of removing stains from wood to be finished or refinished. It is also excellent for lightening timber that is to be finished to the lightest color possible.
    Dissolve 8 oz. of Oxalic Acid in a half gallon of hot water. It is most effective when used hot. If the first application of the bleach does not remove the discolorations or make the surface as light as you would like , apply the same solution hot a second time and repeat as needed.
    Once satisfied with the color allow to dry and be sure to neutralize with white vinigar. Saturate the bleached area and let dry.
    Always wear gloves and appropriate clothing when using Oxalic Acid. Wear a dust mask when sanding the bleached dried timber as the sanding dust is quite irritating to the nose. Learn More
  5. Potassium Bichromate 2 oz.

    Potassium Bichromate is an orange crystal that when dissolved in water and applied to certain woods will turn them a deep brown. The amount of tannin in the wood will determine the depth of color. Works well on hardwoods like oak, ash, cherry, walnut, etc. It works very well on mahogany to produce deep browns. Always experement on scraps to determine suitability.
    Mix 1/2 oz. Potassium Bichromate to 1/2 gallon of water for a medium strength mix. For a stronger mix add more crystal or make a second application. For lighter shades add water to dilute the solution.
