Metal Polishing Before & After

This wall lamp is one of four that was damaged in a house fire. Tarnished and blackened by smoke and soot all four lamps were completely disassembled, polished with Simichrome Metal Polish, and rewired.
Because of the extreme damage and shape of these items with all the nooks and tight corners, polishing of the metal began by applying a heavy coat of Simichrome Metal Polish with 0000 steel wool and then wrapping them with plastic overnight. Next we began polishing by hand using more Simichrome with 0000 steel wool and even a tooth brush for the details and corners. Buffed clean with cheese cloth, reassembled, and rewired these lamps have been competely restored.
